Theodorus Location & How to Unlock Spell Crafting
Where to find Theodorus in The Lantern of the Laughless Saint and how his magic trainer path connects to unlocking spell crafting.
Why Theodorus Matters
Theodorus is a high-value NPC because he is tied to magic training and the path toward spell crafting. If you are trying to become a wizard, looking for a magic trainer, or following a lost tome/favor chain, Theodorus is the NPC to track.
Some community references spell the name as Theodoris and others as Theodorus. This page uses Theodorus in the title, but both searches refer to the same intent: finding the magic trainer and understanding how to unlock spell crafting.
Theodorus Location Route
Current route signals point players toward the western wall area. Start from the early settlement, gather dialogue about magic training or lost tomes, then follow the road and landmark clues instead of waiting for a bright quest marker.
| Step | What To Do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Speak with NPCs in Magdal's Rest |
| 2 | Look for dialogue about magic, training, tomes, or favors |
| 3 | Travel toward the western wall route |
| 4 | Check structures and NPCs near the wall rather than only the main road |
| 5 | Speak with Theodorus and accept his favor chain |
How to Unlock Spell Crafting
Theodorus appears connected to the favor chain that opens deeper magic progression. If spell crafting is not available yet, assume you need to:
- Find Theodorus.
- Complete his introductory dialogue.
- Accept or finish the related favor.
- Return to him after the objective updates.
- Check your magic or crafting interface again.
What to Bring
| Item or Prep | Why It Helps |
|---|---|
| Healing items | The route can pull you away from safe town paths |
| Empty inventory space | Tome or favor items may need room |
| Notes from NPC dialogue | The game often gives directions in text |
| Backup save | Useful before dialogue choices or item hand-ins |
Theodorus vs Bartolomaeus
Players often search for both names because the same early magic cluster can mention trainers, tomes, and NPC locations. Use this simple distinction:
| Name | Search Intent |
|---|---|
| Theodorus / Theodoris | Magic trainer, favor chain, spell crafting unlock |
| Bartolomaeus | Named NPC location, lost tome or related route |
For the other NPC, see Bartolomaeus Location.
